Peanut Butter Chocolate Dessert

My aunt made this a couple years ago for a family get together and I’ve made it a couple times since.  SO SO good.  So good, though, that you definitely need to make this when you are having people over or you are guaranteed to eat almost the entire pan over the course of a week.

24 oreo cookies, divided
2 tbspn butter, softened
1 8oz pkg cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 1/2 cup powdered sugar, divided
1 carton frozen cool whip, thawed, divided
25 reeses peanut butter cups, chopped
1 cup cold milk
1 pkg (3.9oz) instant chocolate fudge pudding mix

1. Crush 16 cookies; toss with butter.  Press into bottom of ungreased 9×13

2. In large mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, peanut butter, and 1 cup powdered sugar until smooth.  Fold in 1/2 of cool whip.  Spread over crust.  Sprinkle with peanut butter cups.

3. In mixing bowl, beat milk, pudding mix, and rest of sugar on low speed 2 minutes.  Fold in remaining cool whip.  Spread over peanut butter cups.  Crush remaining cookies; sprinkle over top.  Cover and chill at least 3 hours.
