Who are these girls?
We’re Sonya and Nicole, two moms of three kids each (+ 1 in the oven for Sonya), who both love to cook. We’ve known each other since birth, as our parents were best friends, and grew up 5 houses down from each other in Effingham, Illinois. In fact, as girls, we used to make up our own recipes in our moms’ kitchens (and, we made unsuspecting younger neighbor kids try out our concoctions)! But the connection doesn’t end there…
Nicole’s husband Matt and Sonya’s husband Kirk worked together in St. Louis at a small bank 11 years ago. Kirk was invited to the Pals/Diehl wedding because he was a friend of Matt’s, and Sonya did a reading in the wedding. They officially met on the dance floor at the reception, and the rest is history.
Kirk and Sonya have been living in Indianapolis for the past 7 years, but they’ve just returned to St. Louis, and Nicole and Matt couldn’t be happier to have them back. Though this was started as a means of sharing across the miles, the blog will continue even though we’re now in the same city again!
We are nowhere near professionals, but we both like to try new recipes with our families. So, welcome! We’ll be posting as often as we have something to share!
Oh…and the name? If you haven’t guessed yet, it’s something we say to our kids almost every meal.

Maybe one day…I can barely get a meal on the table without someone stretching me in some other direction!!

Can’t wait to visit often!

I finally made it over here, and I’m excited to look around. Meals that are kid (and husband) friendly are definitely high-priority!
I love the story about your life-long friendship and how Sonya and Kirk met!
